APA Affiliation

Dear Members,
we are delighted to announce that MOISA is now an affiliated group of the American Philological Association. This means that MOISA will have the opportunity to hold a panel devoted to ancient Greek and Roman music and its cultural heritage at the annual meeting of the APA. The inaugural MOISA panel entitled "Ancient Greek and Roman music: current approaches and new perspectives" will be held at the 146th Annual Meeting of the APA in New Orleans on January 8-11, 2015; the program for the panel will be available in May 2014. The deadline for submitting abstracts for the 2015 meeting is now passed, but in the Fall of 2014 we will be circulating a call for papers for the next MOISA panel, to be held at the January 2016 meeting of the APA in San Francisco. If you have questions either on MOISA's affiliation or on the APA, please contact Pauline A. LeVen (pauline.leven@yale.edu).
