The contribution analyses the reception of the ancient Greek lyric poetry in the Hellenistic period and under the Roman empire, the definition of the genre "lyric poetry" (with special focus of the editorial and critical work of the Alexandrian scholars), its changes and revolutions over the centuries, its role in the school teaching and in the theatrical performances, in the religious cult and on the political scene.
